Blumen is Erdman Ziegler's Debian-based Linux distribution with the goal of making technology more accessible to every user. Blumen is based on the Debian "stable" branch, meaning that instead of updating constantly, you're provided with only the updates you need and your computer's software will work and be reliable much more often than other Operating Systems.
Blumen has multiple different variants; no matter what you are or what you do, there's a version of our operating system that suits your needs. There are currently six different variants, aside from the base version:
Blumen keeps it simple and easy. It's designed to work on many different kinds of hardware. Whether it be an old laptop no longer in use, or a new modern desktop, it just works. On hardware considered slower or obsolete, runs faster than Windows or MacOS because of its simple design. You can read the full explanation about it and the reasoning on why we're developing it by clicking the link below.
About BlumenBlumen is still under development as of April 2026. Upon its first public release, a link will be provided here to install it, as well as its own seperate webpage.
Minecraft Server
Unbeknownst to many, Erdman Ziegler hosts its own Bedrock Minecraft server! It also has its own Discord server and notification bot. The server ("Cabin Tiaga" as it was originally named) is diverse with many farms and cool things to see. Send a friend request or DM to @erdmanziegler on Discord to join.
Blumenbook Program
Erdman Ziegler's Blumenbook Program allows for anyone without technological access (a laptop or desktop computer) to borrow a computer from us and use it at home, school, or work; whatever they might need it for. One can also purchase a laptop or desktop computer for themselves via the program. All computers have Erdman Ziegler's Blumen Linux distribution preinstalled and ready to use. To go about borrowing or purchasing a computer, email our Blumenbook Program support line here:
blumenbook@erdmanziegler.comAs of April 2026, the program is currently only available to people who live in and around the Kutztown, Pennsylvania area, with later expansion possible in the coming months.
